My sister told me last week she's never known of a gap year student to be SO prepared... and I'm not entirely sure she meant it in a good way! My first aid kit takes up half my bag, and to count number of times my bags have been packed, unpacked, REPACKED, definately needs both hands worth of fingers. And let's not get started on the amount of jabs!
BUT IT'S ALL WORTH IT :)
As a quick overview to those of you who haven't heard me blabber on about my trip, Connor and I, two BCS gap year students, are carting ourselves off to Jinja, Uganda for six months. During this time, we'll be doing some extracurricular IT and Music at St James' Secondary School a day or so a week...and the rest of our time isn't organised yet! There are plenty of primary schools, orphanages, street kid charity projects to get involved with so it sounds like we'll be kept busy. Best of all, we're living in a Guest House with other gap year students doing exactly the same.
Oh and not forgetting seeing Africa (Zanzibar is definately top of my list!!).
So this is my way of staying in touch with friends and family, some photos will hopefully go on www.flickr.com/photos/jenmitch90. Keep facebooking/texting/writing/emailing me with what you lot are up to aswell!
See you in six months! Love and that
